Privacy Policy

This policy explains what RepairOps LLC ("RepairOps", "we", "us") collects through this website, repairops.app, and what we do with it. It covers the website only.

The RepairOps application, which repair shops use to run their business, has its own privacy notice. If you're a customer of a repair shop that uses RepairOps, your repair shop controls its customers' records, so please contact the shop about them first.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

Our forms ask for:

• Contact form: your name, email address and message, and your shop's name if you give it.
• Demo request: your name and email address, and if you give them, your shop's name, your team size and what you'd like to see.
• Beta waitlist: your name and email address, and if you give them, your shop's name, your team size and the software you use now.

We also receive whatever you write in a message or an email to us. Please don't send passwords, payment card numbers or device passcodes through our forms or by email.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, receives the information your browser sends with every request: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that linked you here, and the time.
• Spam checks. When you send a form, we count recent submissions from your IP address in server memory over a one-hour window; it isn't written to disk or a database. The forms also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads on pages with a form and receives your IP address and browser details to check that a person is filling it in.
• Analytics, only if you allow it. See section 5.

We don't buy information about you from other companies.

3. How we use it

• To reply to your message, arrange a demo, and run the beta waitlist and its invitations.
• To send you the confirmation email for a form you sent.
• To keep the site working and secure, and to block spam and abuse.
• If you allow analytics, to see which pages and buttons people use, so we can improve the site.

We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to show you ads.

4. Who receives it

These service providers run parts of the site for us:

• Vercel hosts the site and receives the server logs described above. If you allow analytics, it also runs Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
• Postmark sends each form to our inbox and sends your confirmation email, so it receives what you typed in the form.
• Our email provider stores those emails in our inbox.
• Cloudflare runs Turnstile, the spam check on our forms.
• PostHog runs our product analytics, only if you allow analytics.
• Google. When you request a demo, we may create a Google Meet room for it. We don't send your form details to Google to do that. If you join the meeting, Google's own privacy policy applies to the call.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a buyer or successor if RepairOps' business is sold or reorganized.

5. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

The site has no advertising or social media trackers. What it keeps in your browser:

• When you make a choice: repairops_cookie_consent, which remembers your analytics choice for a year once you allow or reject analytics, and theme, which remembers light or dark mode if you pick one. Both stay in your browser's local storage and aren't set until you choose.
• Only if you allow analytics: PostHog keeps a random ID in ph_ keys in local and session storage. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights don't store anything in your browser.

Analytics is off until you choose. If you allow it:

• PostHog records when you click one of our main buttons or plan buttons, switch pricing between monthly and annual, open a tab in the workflow tour, or open a blog post. Each event carries the page you were on and the page that referred you (we remove anything after "?" or "#"), the random ID and a session ID, your browser, its language and user agent string, your operating system and device type, your screen and window size, your time zone, and the IP address your request comes from, which PostHog can use to estimate your city and country. Automatic click capture, session recording and surveys are switched off.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load. Vercel receives the page address (we remove anything after "?" or "#"), the referring page, and your browser, device and IP address.

You can change your choice at any time on the Cookie Settings page. When you turn analytics off, we delete PostHog's keys from your browser and reload the page so the analytics scripts stop.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a choice to keep analytics off. While the signal is on, PostHog, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights don't load, whatever you chose before, and we don't ask you about analytics. The signals don't change the server logs, spam checks and form emails described above, which the site needs in order to work.

7. Tracking by other companies

We don't use advertising networks, social media pixels or other third-party trackers. The only other companies that collect information on this site are the service providers in section 4, doing the jobs described there. We don't knowingly allow other parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site.

8. How long we keep it

• Form submissions arrive as emails in our inbox. We keep them while we're in touch with you and for our records, and we don't yet delete them on a fixed schedule. Ask us and we'll delete yours. Postmark keeps its own copy of the emails it sends for a limited time under its retention settings.
• Your analytics choice is kept in your browser for a year, then we ask again.
• Analytics data is kept in our PostHog project under its retention settings. The random ID stays in your browser until you turn analytics off or clear your browser storage.
• Spam-check IP counts are held briefly in server memory.
• Server logs are kept by Vercel for a limited time under its own settings.

9. Your choices and requests

You can ask us what information we hold about you from this website, and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to confirm your email address before we act, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep. We won't treat you differently for asking.

10. Children

This website is for repair businesses and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as passwords, payment card numbers or device passcodes through our forms or by email.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is material, we'll also say so at the top of this page for at least 30 days. We won't use information you gave us under an earlier version of this policy in a materially different way without asking you first.
